Daisy

A yellow daisy in a field

Not a care in the world

Living, growing, duplicating year after year

A hare eats the daisy

Then fertilizes the ground for the next round

A hawk over the field

Snatches up the hare

Year after year

The cycle continues

Until Manifest destiny decides to rear

It’s ugly head

The destructors swoop in

Slashing and burning

Twisting and turning

The land to their needs

Gone now are the daisy the hawk and the hare

About caseyjones89

I like to write. To observe human nature. To envision what the future might hold. Fingers crossed for immortality and friendly dragons capable of both speech and interstellar travel.

“Gone now are the daisy the hawk and the hare”. May the future bring friendly dragons to a banquet where the the meal is not a baking of any of the relatives of the guests. But I wouldn’t be surprised if rabbit stew is good.

Your poetry is very nice, especially this one.
Daisies are hardy, though. I once saw one growing in a crevice in the middle of te span of a mile-long bridge.
